Is this foundation from Revolution Pro the best one under a £10?
Spoiler alert. Despite my continuously bad experiences with cheap foundation, this one might be a winner. Inspired by Hayley, Trona and Nikki I (quite literally) rushed to place an order. I have used it for over a week. Here's what I thought.
what is it?
Makeup Revolution is known for their impressive range of purse-friendly products. The new Pro collection promises even better results while still staying within the £10 limit. Foundation Drops is one of them. It comes in a sleek glass bottle with a dropper and in 18 flattering shades.
The finish is an interesting one. From a cheaper foundation I would expect quite a dry base no matter how well it applies but with this one it stays more or less unchanged for the most part of the day. It's (on my combination/can be dehydrated/mature skin) very glowy and luminous. My favourite types of foundation are balmy with blurring properties, this one, although still remaining quite hydrating thanks to its water-based formula, doesn't have that. What it does offer however is a decent amount of coverage (waaaay better than the Ordinary Serum Foundation) plus it applies like a dream with a buffing brush or a beauty blender. I use both.
It's not as smoothing as the Chanel Healthy Glow but it applies way better. Its luminous finish might be an issue to some ( I love it and would usually leave it as that) so I would set it with a powder. I've tried Hourglass finishing powder and it looks good but still significantly dewy. I myself don't have a problem with that but I know some might do. Even though it does stay on for a long time it doesn't maintain the glow until the end of the day (which I know is asking for a lot).
Is it worth it?
All things considered, it is without a doubt a winner despite my nitpicking. For the price it does an outstanding job and is definitely THE one to go to if you're on a budget. Your base will look amazing.
